Who are we?
The Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology (ASAR) was founded in 2007 under cooperation of Japanese Society of Abdominal Radiology (JSAR), Korean Society of Abdominal Radiology (KSAR) and Korean Society of Urogenital Radiology (KSUR). The aims of ASAR are to advance the study of abdominal imaging and intervention, in Asia, by encouraging radiological and clinical excellence, teaching, research and further education in the subspeciality, and ultimately to strengthen the Asian radiology and to reinforce competitiveness compared to American or European radiology.
The Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology is an apolitical, non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting and coordinating the scientific, intellectual and professional activities of radiology in all Asian countries or regions. The society’s mission is to serve the health care needs of the general public through the support of science, teaching and research and the quality of service in the field of Asian radiology. The ASAR meeting, Asian Congress of Abdominal Radiology (ACAR) has taken place biennially since the 1st meeting in Miyazaki, Japan in June 2007 and the 2nd meeting in Seoul, Korea in June 2009.
